I will be trying other seasonings with this to replicate other rice/couscous sides too, as it seems versatile. It works whether i'm cooking one, two, or three cups of rice. We did covered the bottom of the inset with little olive oil.

Start by washing the rice with lots of water. My family gulfs down rice so 1 and 1/4 rice was too little for us (i didn’t have carrots) we used 2 cups of rice, added salsa for flavor, and diced tomato from a can. I also added salt, pepper, and maybe a tablespoon of parmesan instead of butter (as suggested by another reviewer). Therefore, bring the chicken broth to boil then add the rice and let it boil as well.
